Important NEET 2025 Counseling Dates: From Registration to Final Allotment

June 16, 2025June 6, 2025 by jdsnews94@gmail.com
The admission process for medical and dental courses in India is a long and eventful journey. Every year, lakhs of students compete for admission to MBBS, BDS and other courses through NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test). But just clearing the exam is not enough – the real process begins when it comes to NEET Counselling. Counselling at the NEET 2025 is a significant part as students who passed in the test will now be keen to acquire a position in government and non-government medical colleges situated in India. Within the frames of this article, we will understand what all the important dates regarding NEET 2025 counselling are, what are the various stages of the counselling procedure, how one can apply to the counselling and how the allotment of seats operation happens. Stages of NEET 2025 Counselling NEET counselling is a well-planned process that involves various stages. It is important to attend each step carefully: 1. Registration First of all, candidates need to register online by visiting the official website of MCC (www.mcc.nic.in). During registration, students need to fill in their NEET roll number, date of birth, mobile number and email ID. A security deposit is also required along with the registration. 2. Choice Filling After registration, students need to choose their preference of colleges and courses. They are allowed to fill in as many choices as they want – but must be very careful as these choices will be used for seat allotment. 3. Seat Allotment MCC allots seats as per the available seats and the rank and preferences of the students through a computerised process. If a student gets a seat, they need to download the allotment letter. 4. Reporting & Document Verification After getting the seat, the student has to report to the respective college. Here all the required documents such as mark sheet, caste certificate, NEET score card, etc. are checked. 5. Round 2, Mop-up Round and Stray Vacancy Students who do not get a seat in the first round or wait for a better option can participate in Round 2. The mop-up round is for unfilled seats, and the stray vacancy round gives the last remaining students a chance. 📚 List of Required Documents The following documents are required at the time of reporting for NEET counselling: NEET 2025 Admit Card and Score Card 10th and 12th Marksheets and Certificates Identity Proof (Aadhaar, Passport, Voter ID) Passport Size Photograph (Recent) Cast/EWS/PwD Certificate (If Applicable) Seat Allotment Letter (Downloaded from MCC) 💡 Some Important Points About Counselling Multiple Rounds: NEET counselling is conducted in multiple rounds. Don’t be disappointed if you don’t get your desired college in the first go. Fee Refund: If you don’t participate in any round or don’t accept the seat, your security deposit can be refunded. Option Locking: It is mandatory to lock the options after choice filling. If you don’t do this, the system considers the last choices filled by you as locked. Free Exit Facility: If you are allotted a seat in the first round, you can opt for a ‘Free Exit’ by not reporting. But this cannot be done after Round 2. 🌍 AIQ vs State Quota Counseling All India Quota (AIQ): Counselling is done by MCC for 15% of government seats across India. State Quota Counseling: Counselling process is done by the respective state government for 85% of seats. Students can participate in both the counsellings, provided they meet the respective eligibility criteria. Conclusion It is extremely important to participate in NEET 2025 counselling and keep track of all the dates as it determines the direction of the medical career of the students. Registration, choice filling, reporting – all these steps need to be completed wisely to get a good medical seat. If you have cleared NEET 2025, this article will act as a guide for you. By taking the right decision at the right time, you can start your medical journey in a better way.
